My Own Two Hands

We helped sort and pack food for emergency food kits. MO2H was part of the team that packaged 1,000 boxes of emergency food relief ready to be shipped to soup kitchens/families in need.

Year-end celebration. To celebrate their kids graduating to kindergarten, the Center holds an annual carnival. Face painting, astro-jumper, icee machine, basketball shooting, Bozo Buckets, other kids games. They typically hire people to help which puts a dent in their meager budget. We came out and supplied helping hands for all of the set-up, festivities with the kids and break-down afterwards.

It's a brand new school in a low-income district of West Side Chicago. We helped prepare the classrooms for the schools inagural class by painting classrooms and doing clean-up.

We spent time with these women who have suffered some sort of hardship that landed them into this women's shelter. We hung out with them and did whatever they wanted to do, playing Scrabble, baking cookies and we supplied arts and crafts and made jewelry with the women.

They shut down Lakeshore Drive to promote active lifestyles and going green with alternative modes of transportation. We ran the T-Shirt Tent. We sold Bike the Drive t-shirts/gear from previous year's events and all proceeds went to help the Active Transportation Alliance.

We put mulch around trees, cleaned up running trails and planted flowers.
